Hey this is Mike McCready, your host on episode 72 of The Hookblast Podcast.  Wow!  72. That means we’re getting close to the end of season 4. Season Four.  Four Seasons.  Four Seasons Total Landscaping.  Or as the four seasons are known here in the northeast, almost winter, winter, still winter, and 3 months of bad sledding.

This is the podcast where we discover a few new catchy songs. I only play the hooks so you never have to sit through an entire song that makes you wish you and I had never crossed paths. You add the songs you DO love to your own streaming playlists or subscribe to mine at hookblast.com.  That’s also where you go to vote for the song you like best here on episode 72. The song with the most votes two weeks ago was Love You Like That by Summer Anon.

At least that’s how I think this works.  Waiting for election results is like waiting for a grade on a group project. I know I did my part, but I’m worried the rest of you screwed it up.

OK.  Let’s play some hooks.Playing With Fireworks… is really frustrating because I just blow right through them. Hehehe  OK… That isn’t what I was supposed to say….  Take 2…  Playing With Fireworks is the band behind the first song on today’s episode. The band is fronted by Luke Underhill.  The song is called, This Night.

Luke Underhill says that song expresses influences by 30 Seconds to Mars and Angels and Airwaves. On the heels of This Night comes Stuck In The Spotlight, an inspirational and uplifting song from artist Kamanda. It’s about overcoming hard times and shining bright in life. Seeing my name in shining lights is on my bucket list. I have a plan. I figure if it looks like things aren’t going to work out,  I’ll just legally change my name to Exit.

That’s Stuck In The Spotlight.

The Hookblast Podcast is brought to you by Music Xray.  People have been asking me to distinguish this part of the show from the other parts so today, I’ve decided to tell you about Music Xray in a Spanish accent. OK.

(Spanish accent)Music Xray is the best platform where the music artists can find the opportunities for making life more better. For putting the music into the advertisements on the television and in the radio and uh you know… uh. well, and uh you know…   If you have no wait uh if you are a musicians you can use promocode  hookblast21 and …. ¿Y a mi porque me sacas a leer tu idiota anuncio?

eh… sometimes I don’t know what possess me.

Next up is Bouji Bailey (Boozhi Baylee) with Meet Me Half Way.  It’s a song about longing for your partner to put an equal amount of effort into the relationship as you do. My wife and I know a lot about that… In our youth we were always spatting and fighting, but after years of hard work and effort… we’re no longer young.

That’s Meet Me Half Way from Bouji Bailey.

OK…  I know you come for the great music… but you come back for the life tips. OK. OK.  If you get a loan at a bank, you pay it for 30 years.  But if you ROB a bank, you’re out in 10 years. And that’s today’s tip!  Follow me on social media for more financial advice….  I’m a genius.

Up next on today’s show is a song by Reid Randolph. He says he wrote this song to help anyone who is trying to take care of themselves after moving on from a breakup or other difficult situation. This is Better.

I don’t know if you like to finish the day with a cold beer…. I mean, how would I? I know I sure would…  if I could have gluten.  One time I almost overdosed on lemonade.  Anyway, writer Kay Mott is on the show next with, A Cold One

Wow! That’s heavy AND country….  huh…  just like most South Dakotans.

OK. That’s all the time we have for episode 72. Don’t forget to give this show a five star rating and a gushing review on your favorite podcast app.  I’m reminding you because I think you forgot last time.  It’s OK.  I know you didn’t mean to.  Good luck this time! All songs are used with the permission of the rights holders.  I’ll catch you right back here next week with a fresh batch of new hooks.  Bye Bye
